Our Grand Steward was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 18 March 1982, in Eldorado Lodge No. 730, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois, in Eldorado. He presided as Worshipful Master of Galatia Lodge No. 684 in Galatia in 2003, and has held life membership since 10 February 2000. On 2 January 2002, he was presented honorary membership in Equality Lodge No. 2 in Equality, affiliating as a plural member on 20 March of the same year; He presided as Worshipful Master in 2006. He is an honorary member of Harrisburg Lodge No. 325 in Harrisburg since 19 March 2002.

He was advanced to the degree of Mark Master and exalted to the supreme degree of Royal Arch Mason, both on 14 January 2006 in Equality Chapter UD (now No. 6), in Equality, where he currently presides as Excellent High Priest. Despite its low number, the present Equality Chapter No. 6 was chartered on 29 July 2006, and Rick is proud to be a charter member of his chapter. He has affiliated as a plural member of Murphysboro Chapter No. 164 in Murphysboro since 28 December 2006, and Andrew D. Webb Chapter No. 160 in Mount Vernon since 26 February 2007. He has been a charter member of Southern Illinois Capitular Standard Club since 15 April 2007, and currently serves as the club’s 1st Vice President. He joined the Grand Chapter line on 27 July 2007 as Excellent Assistant Grand Steward.

Excellent Companion Barrall was greeted as a Select Master on 11 February 2006 in Herrin Council No. 116, Cryptic Masons of Illinois, in Marion. He affiliated as a plural member of Salem Council No. 97 in Mount Vernon on 28 December 2006, and of Murphysboro Council No. 49 in Murphysboro on 26 February 2007, where he presides as Thrice Illustrious Master.

Rick was dubbed and created a Knight of the Valiant and Magnanimous Order of the Temple on 11 February 2006 in Beauseant Commandery No. 86, Knights Templar of the State of Illinois, in Murphysboro. He affiliated as a plural member of Patton Commandery No. 69 in Mount Vernon on 28 December 2006.

He was installed into the degree of Knight of the East and West in Shamrock Council No. 43, Knight Masons of the U.S.A., on 26 September 2006, in Belleville. He was initiated into Wabash Valley Council No. 454, Allied Masonic Degrees on 22 April 2007. He was elected and received his degrees on 20 May 2007 in Southern Illinois York Rite College No. XXXIII.

Our Excellent Assistant Grand Steward was inducted into Jesse B. Thomas Chapter No. 547 of National Sojourners in Mont Vernon on 7 August 2006, and became a “Hero of ‘76” in Camp John A. Logan on 16 January 2007.

He was created a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in Ainad Shriners, A.A.O.N.M.S., in East Saint Louis on 27 March 2001, and served as president of Egyptian Shrine Club in Harrisburg in the year 2002.
