Excellent Grand Master of the Third Veil

Excellent Companion Patrick Bruce Jones was born in 1967 at Augusta, Maine. Since being awarded a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, he has been employed as a facility manager of the world-renowned Art Institute of Chicago, where his responsibilities include involvement in the construction of the massive new Modern Wing and the accompanying reinstallations being performed throughout the existing structure. On 2 April 2000, he married Jacqueline Wolk with whom he has a daughter, Eleanor.

Our Grand Master of the Third Veil was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 9 April 2003, in Oriental Lodge No. 33, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois, in Chicago, where he currently serves as Senior Warden. Brother Jones was commissioned a Certified Lodge Instructor in 2004 by the Grand Lodge, A.F.&A.M., of Illinois. An officer of Oriental Lodge No. 33, he participated when his lodge became the state ritual champions in 2005.

Excellent Companion Patrick B. Jones' mark is an open right hand formed by nine equal lines.Pat was advanced to the degree of Mark Master Mason on 1 September 2004, and exalted to the supreme degree of Holy Royal Arch Mason on 1 December of the same year, both in La Fayette Chapter No. 2 (then known as N. Tracy Walker Chapter No. 2) in Chicago, where he served as Excellent High Priest in 2008-2009 and instructed the chapter’s officers in the Grand Chapter’s old “Blackhawk” Ritual with which La Fayette Chapter opened the 2008 Grand Convocation. He received the Anointed Order of High Priesthood on 1 August 2008, and began his current service as chapter secretary on 26 May 2009. He joined the Grand Chapter line on 27 July 2007 as Excellent Grand Master of the Second Veil, and was installed as Excellent Grand Master of the Third Veil on 1 August 2008; he has served as Grand Representative to the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons in Maine since 2007, and is a perpetual life member of the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons International.

Excellent Companion Jones was greeted as a Select Master on 2 March 2005, in Chicago Council No. 4, Cryptic Masons of Illinois, in Chicago, where he presided as Thrice Illustrious Master from 24 June 2008 until 23 June 2009, and where he since serves as Recorder. He received the degree of Super Excellent Master on 11 June 2005, and the Order of Thrice Illustrious Master on 31 July 2008.

Sir Knight Jones was dubbed and created a Knight of the Valiant and Magnanimous Order of he Temple on 24 January 2005 in Saint Bernard Commandery No. 35, Knights Templar of the State of Illinois, in Chicago, whom he served as Recorder from that time until his 24 July 2007 installation as Eminent Commander, and now again since 24 June 2008; he is also Recorder of Albertus Magnus Commandery of Research No. 92 of which he is a charter member. As a Eminent Past Commander, he was dubbed a Knight Crusader of the Cross on 31 July 2008.

He currently serves as Chaplain of Lux Ex Oriente Council No. 379, Allied Masonic Degrees, in Chicago. He was installed into the degree of Knight of the East and West in Saint Bridget Council No. 23, Knight Masons of the U.S.A., in Glenview on 12 October 2007. He was inducted as frater of Illinois College, Societas Rosicruciana In Civitatibus Foederatis (Rosicrucian Society of the U.S.) on 30 November 2007.

Our Excellent Grand Master of the Third Veil was elected and received the degree of Knight of the Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine and the Orders of the Holy Sepulchre and St. John the Evangelist in St. John's Conclave on 9 January 2009 in Chicago.  He was elected and received his degrees on 29 January 2009 in Illinois York Rite College No. 15 in Glenview.

Brother Jones was created a 32° Scottish Rite Freemason and Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret on 8 November 2003 in the Valley of Chicago, where he currently serves as Orator of the valley's Gourgas Chapter of Rose Croix of Heredom, and the chairman of the valley’s Museum Committee. In May 2007, he was elected to a seat as a Member at Large on the Scottish Rite Cathedral Association Board.
