Second Round Results
Competition was intense during the 2nd Round of the 2008 Keystone Quest which featured questions from the Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry and Its Kindred Sciences by Albert G. Mackey, M.D., 33°, MEPGHP, on hand in many Masonic temples and public libraries. This year, the 2nd round from the letter “B.”
Among the 19 of 21 total 1st round Capitular Champion chapters who returned 2nd round materials postmarked on or before the 30 April deadline, the average score was 80 and average time was 8:00. The three Omnific Champions are eligible to compete in the 3rd round at the Grand Convocation; the runners-up are eligible, in order of eligibility, to compete in the absence of the Omnific Champions.

The state championship is a “lightning round” with nine questions for each chapter to answer within a maximum time of three minutes. will be held at the Grand Chapter Annual Convocation, Friday morning, 1 August 2008, at Hotel Père Marquette, located at 501 Main Street, in Peoria. For the exact time, please refer to the agenda. As many members of each chapter present at that time may participate, including plural and honorary members. The questions and answers for the 3rd Round (championship) will be taken from the entries beginning with the letter "C" within Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry and its Kindred Sciences by Albert G. Mackey, M.D., 33°, MEPGHP, which may make for a most entertaining, if not educational, event. An awards ceremony will follow the 3rd Round, when Omnific and State Champion plaques and the Keystone Quest travelling trophy will be presented.
