Excellent Grand Royal Arch Captain Excellent Companion Robert H. Wright was born in 1945. He moved to Illinois in 1964 to work for a railroad and, in 1969, began a career in life insurance data processing. He earned the designation, Fellow of the Life Management Institute (“FLMI”), from the Life Office Management Association in 1977. He later earned the designation, Chartered Life Underwriter (“CLU”), from the American College in 1986, and the designation, Health Insurance Associate (“HIA”) from the Health Insurance Association of America. On 20 November 1966, he married the former Georgianne Kraus. Together, they have two children and two grandchildren. Our Excellent Grand Royal Arch Captain was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 22 June 1967, in Wade Barney Lodge No. 512, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois, in Bloomington and served as the lodge’s Worshipful Master in the years 1972-1973. He was commissioned a Grand Lecturer in October 1980 by the Grand Lodge of Illinois, and has further served the Grand Lodge as Chairman of the Mileage & Per Diem Committee since being appointed by Most Worshipful Brother Robert E. Ford in 1990.
Excellent Companion Wright was greeted as a Select Master on 21 January in Bloomington Council No. 43, and served as Thrice Illustrious Master in 2006-2007. He received the degree of Super Excellent Master on 20 March 2004. The Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Illinois recognized him in 2001 as the Cryptic Recorder of the Year for Class B councils. He has been appointed and commissioned a Certified Ritualist Level 1 since 2003. Bob was dubbed and created a Knight of the Valiant and Magnanimous Order of the Temple on 28 January 1984 in DeMolay Commandery No. 24, Knights Templar of the State of Illinois, in Bloomington, and served as Eminent Commander in the years 2005-2006. In recognition of his service as a Past Master, Past High Priest, Past Thrice Illustrious Master, and Past Eminent Commander, Sir Knight Wright was received into Illinois Priory No. 11 as a Knight of the York Cross of Honour on 28 July 2007. He was ordained into Lily of the Valley Tabernacle XLVI, Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priests in December 2006. Our Excellent Grand Royal Arch Captain was installed into the degree of Knight of the East and West in Earl of Torrell Council No. 24, Knight Masons U.S.A. on 20 October 2007. He was initiated into Shadrach Bond Council No. 272, Allied Masonic Degrees, on 27 May 2005. On 19 April 1995, he was elected and received the degree of Knight of the Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine and the Orders of the Holy Sepulchre and Saint John the Evangelist in Saint Helena Conclave, of which he was Prefect in 2006-2007. After joining Central Illinois York Rite College No. 42 on 4 February 1996, he served as Pre-Eminent Governor in the years 2005-2006; he received the Order of the Purple Cross on 28 July 2006 in Little Rock, Arkansas, in recognition of his service to Freemasonry. He was created a 32° Scottish Rite Freemason and Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret on 21 February 1970. He has served as Thrice Potent Master of Bloomington Lodge of Perfection in the years 1979-1980 and as Commander in Chief of Bloomington Consistory in the years 1987-1989. In recognition of his outstanding service to Freemasonry and the Scottish Rite, he was coroneted a 33° Freemason and Inspector General Honorary on 24 September 1986 by the Supreme Council of Sovereign Grand Inspectors General of the 33rd and Last Degree of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America. He served as Deputy’s Representative for the Valley of Bloomington for five years. Bob was created a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in Mohammed Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S., in Peoria on 6 March 1999. He has been a member of the McLean County Shrine Club and the Novats unit since joining Mohammed Shrine. Excellent Companion Wright was awarded Active membership in the Legion of Honour by the Order of DeMolay of Illinois on 8 April 1981. |
